Methylcobalamin Liquid
Active, coenzyme form of vitamin B12. Methylcobalamin is the active, coenzyme form of vitamin B12, prepared as a liquid for rapid and efficient absorption. In addition to its role in supporting red blood cell function, methylcobalamin is the preferred form of B12 for regulating homocysteine and for supporting numerous aspects of neurological health. Methylcobalamin participates in the transfer of methyl groups as an essential cofactor for methionine synthase, a critical enzyme required for synthesis of methionine from homocysteine.
This helps support normal homocysteine levels, which plays an important role in maintaining healthy cardiovascular and cognitive functions. Some individuals are more susceptible to homocysteine accumulation as they are unable to fully convert common forms of B12 (such as cyanocobalamin) into an active form. In contrast, providing vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin, an active, methylated form, provides a reliable approach to supporting homocysteine metabolism. Methylcobalamin also participates in the synthesis of S-adenosylmethionine (SAM), important for formation of the neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin involved in mood regulation.
